FULLY AUTOMATED METROS

CAF has several metro solutions that have been designed to operate at different automation levels, including fully automatic operation (GoA 4). This type of system offers maximum safety with the help of state-of-the-art technology applied to movement supervision.

The units' level of automation removes the need to include driver's cabs and operation is completely automatic. The system has been designed so that the rolling material automatically stops in the expected position, in line with the doors to the platforms. Consequently, this solution offers maximum safety and reliability.

CAF has worked on the following automatic metro units:

• Santiago de Chile metro: new units for lines 3 and 6 of the Santiago de Chile metro.
• Helsinki metro: new units for the West metro line in Helsinki.
• Istanbul metro: new units for the UUC metro line in Istanbul.
