In 2006, CAF was awarded the contract to supply 57 electric units to Renfe. These trains consist of 5 cars. The Brava variable gauge bogie may be fitted, allowing travel on both Iberian and UIC gauge tracks. All the units are equipped with a multifunction area with vending, bicycle storage rack and rest area. Deliveries were made between 2009 and 2011. The first train was set into commercial service in 2009.
