Electric locomotives for a catenary voltage of 3000 V with a continuous rate power of 4600 Kw. Rheostatic type control, rheostatic type electric maintenance and train stopping brake, with separated activation, dual brake for the train, with compressed air braking for the locomotive.
The axle arrangement is C’C’. The single motor trucks are equipped with twin gear unit transmissions allowing for the locomotive to be used for passenger service at a maximum speed of 160 km/h and with goods trains at 100 km/h.
The transmission of stress to the wheels is via hollow shafts.
