Italy to receive Solaris interurban buses

Hamburger Hochbahn, one of the largest public transport operators in Germany, issued a tender this year for the supply of 530 twelve and eighteen metre-long (articulated) electric buses. In August, three candidate manufacturers were selected, one of these being the CAF Group subsidiary. The framework agreement establishes tranche orders for the vehicles over the next 5 years until completing the delivery of the aforementioned total of 530 vehicles.

Mitsubishi Corporation has subcontracted CAF for design and supply 246 modern Diesel Electric Multiple Units (DEMU) in the framework of the contract the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar awarded to Mitsubishi Corporation.

Please find attached the press release which the transport operator RATP issued in relation to its selection of the CAF/Bombardier consortium as their preferred bidder to supply 146 trains for the Paris RER B suburban line. Said line is operated by both RATP and SNCF and serves the French capital in northbound/southbound directions.

At the international Global e-Mobility Forum conference in Warsaw, Solaris was given the Global e-Mobility Leader Award for its contribution to the development of zero-emission transport around the world. The event, assembling representatives of governments, scientists and world industry leaders, acted as a space for debate on the future of e-mobility and sustainable transport. This year, thanks to its online format, the conference could be followed from anywhere in the world.

The Milan operator, ATM, has decided to order an additional 100 electric buses from Solaris, under the framework contract concluded between both companies halfway through last year, and under which a first batch of 40 electric buses was recently delivered. As per the terms of the contract, the CAF Group subsidiary will deliver these 100 new 12-metre long Urbino electric buses to the Italian fashion capital in the first half of 2021.
