Beasain
CAF’s Factory in Beasain (Guipúzcoa)
manufactures all different types of railway equipment, such as:
- Electric and diesel units
- Metro Units Trains
- High-power and shunting locomotives
- High Speed Trains
Beasain's plant is the only existing facility in Spain to produce axles and wheels, including the production of the special steel required. CAF has a 50-ton electric furnace, which enables maximum quality for this line of manufacturing.
Another production line in CAF's Beasain plant is trucks, an essential component in railway stock, which is manufactured for the vehicles made by CAF at its four plants.
In this plant, CAF also has an up to date electric workshop where all the items that will be fitted on the train are prepared and assembled utilizing mock-ups, such as:
- Operator's desks
- Failure detection equipment
- Electric panels and cabinets
A computerized logistic service allows us real-time follow up on the status of items and subassemblies produced in the plant as well as on the materials, components and equipment received from other sources.
