Work Processes

Testing

All CAF’s work processes

involve thorough testing and calculations that help us predict the product’s operating behavior.

To study this behavior, our products and materials are subjected to a series of dynamic laboratory simulations which analyze several elements:

  • Speed parameters.
  • Curvature.
  • Load and tilt.

With he results from these tests, we can assure the reliability of CAF’s products. The tests are carried out by prioritizing three factors:

  • Passenger comfort.
  • Stability.
  • Effort on the track.

Another critical stage in our testing process consists of strain and dynamic tests, conducted utilizing programs based on multibody formulation, finite elements analysis method and fracture Linear Mechanics.

These tests are carried out on a bench where frames and trucks are tested, both statically and dynamically. Components are subjected to different loads according to the corresponding manufacturing standards. In certain cases, particularly new prototypes, they are tested to breaking point.

Tests last about a month, 24 hours a day, in order to simulate a train in operation for approximately 40 years.

Once the design and testing stages are completed, a computerized planning is developed to control the complete production process, beginning with the production phase in the workshops.fase de fabricación.
