The ATMS is the train Bogie variables control and monitoring system, which provides the possibility of monitoring the various parameters such as the temperature of the bearings, lateral accelerations, oil levels, etc. This is a state-of-the-art system with regards to safety as it can even bring a train to a standstill should it not be activated when a fault situation arises where the thresholds of temperature, acceleration, etc. previously defined are exceeded.
This safety system also opens doors to new maintenance concepts as the ATMS serves as a support tool for the execution of new maintenance strategies. The information provided by the ATMS can be used to perform intelligent maintenance diagnosis tasks.
