The main purpose of the CÉNIT ecoTRANS project, headed up by the company CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, S.A.), is to develop technologies required to provide passengers with more appealing public urban transport in a not too far off future (comfortable, punctual, fast, safe, reliable) with less environmental impact (low energy consumption, low visual impact, low noise impact).
This ambitious project objective can only be achieved through the cooperation of various public and private agents, each with well-founded knowledge. Thanks to collaboration in the activities important progress shall be made in a strategic sector for the Spanish society and economy, as it the case for public transport.
