SIENER
The main purpose of the SIENER project, headed up by the company CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, S.A.), is to develop new systems by which to optimize rail vehicle energy demand and management, increasing the energy usage ratio to values close to 100%, by combining various technological developments.
This ambitious project can only be achieved through the cooperation of various public and private agents, each with well formed knowledge. As a result of collaboration in activities, important progress shall be made in a strategic sector for the society and economy for public transport.
Four railway sector companies and one Public University collaborate in the project, making up a five member consortium.

The project was partially funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and co-funded by FEDER funds as the INNPACTO 2010 Project.
