As many as two 2900 units (8 cars) can be coupled, plus a unit from the previous series (2 cars), forming a composition of 10 cars.
Lateral driving controls. Ergonomic cab with side door access.

Two bogies per car. One of these is a motor bogie.
Interchangeable motor bogies, except on mounted axles.
Cast wheels with hardened surfaces and bearing axle-boxes.
Coil spring primary suspension, pneumatic secondary suspension.
Two reducers per motor bogie driven by cardan shafts.
