As part of its "Strategic Program for Energy Efficiency", the company has set itself the following core objectives: the promotion of renewable energies, the optimisation of energy usage in its business activities and the promotion of environmental policies within the company and in all the rail networks in which CAF operates and collaborates.

The CAF facilities incorporate systems to make the most of natural resources and to take advantage of clean, eco-friendly renewable energy technologies.
One of the company's next objectives is to make increased use of renewable energies at its factories and facilities. With this aim in mind, new land is being sought in order to make optimum use of the space and resources available.

Leader in electric mobility solutions
In addition to the use of solar panels to generate electricity CAF is applying energy reduction measures to its production processes. In order to optimally meet its objectives, regular evaluations are made to assess the progressive results of the company's energy efficiency policy.
Likewise, CAF is collaborating with railway authorities and other bodies in order to develop new transport projects, directed at helping to improve the environment in each community and providing sustainable transport solutions.

ISO 14001 environmental certification
Recognising the increasingly demanding circumstances, CAF, pursuant to the provisions of the United Nations Global Compact for Sustainable Development 2030, has set out measures to reduce global warming and to adapt to Climate Change, promoting measures that contribute to environmental sustainability.
To this end, the main purpose of the Environmental Policy is to identify the general corporate principles and criteria to be applied at CAF relative to the environment, and to inform our Stakeholders of our Environmental Commitments which are set out in CAF's Sustainability Policy, with the environment considered a key factor with regards to sustainability and, in particular, the development of more efficient and environmentally-friendly comprehensive sustainable mobility solutions.
Also, in order to establish Environmental Management systems, based on a philosophy of continuous improvement, a factor that contributes to the reduction of environmental impacts, The environmental and OH&S policy which comprises both environmental and employee protection against occupational risks as part of the organisation's goals, is provided.
By means of the Environmental Management System in place, certified according to standard ISO 14.001:2015, both compliance and effectiveness of adopted measures are checked on a regular basis to guarantee that the goals set out by the organisation are achieved.
