In 2013, the operator Ferrotramviaria and CAF signed a contract for the purchase of 2 electric traction Civity trains. These units are made up of 4 cars and will provide service in the Apulia region.
Civity trains are low-floor providing ease-of-access from any platform for people with wheeled suitcases and pushchairs. The modular nature of the trains allows them to be precisely adapted to meet the individual needs of each customer, as configurations can be changed quickly and simply by adding or removing intermediate cars.
In addition, the central area of cars has a multipurpose design and other models as well as seats can be configured to maximise passenger comfort during transit. In this case, the train is equipped with bicycle and baggage rack areas. This train is also equipped with a car adapted to Persons with Reduced Mobility with a bathroom appropriate for this type of passengers and exclusive wheelchair areas.
