UTRECHT TRAM

CAF is the supplier of the new trams for the new Uithoflijn line connecting the central station of Utrecht with the Science Park De Uithof. This is an Urbos tram, bidirectional, comprising 5 modules and designed to run at a service speed of 70 km/h.

The unit is 100% low floor for ease of boarding and egress of any type of user, and passengers walking along the unit. The vehicle is equipped with couplers in order to allow the operation of several multiple units, providing a greater transport capacity to the operator.

In addition, the tram provides the best vehicle passenger accessibility conditions available today and it has 2 areas for wheelchairs.

The units are designed for possible incorporation of Greentech Freedrive system for catenary-less operation.
