CIVITY REGIONAL TRAIN FOR TRANSPENNINE EXPRESS

CAF is the supplier of the new regional trains for the TransPennine Express franchise operated by FirstGroup. These new Electric Multiple Units (EMU) form part of the Civity platform.

These Civity units are made up of 5 cars each and can reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h. Their modern functional interior design, equipped with passenger information systems and on-board Wi-Fi servers aim to maximise passenger comfort.

In addition, the design of these new trains reduces track damage thanks to the lighter weight of the units. Furthermore, Civity UK units are specifically designed for energy recovery thanks to their regenerative braking system. As a result, this contributes to optimised operations and achieves high efficiency rates.

CAF's commitment with First Group operator is long-term, as this partnership will continue until the end of the franchise operation with the provision of technical support service for the maintenance and integral spares management for both train platforms.
