METRO CARACAS
CAF has supplied metro units of 7 cars for line 1 of Metro Caracas, which represents the backbone of transport in this city with approximately 2 million passengers per day.These trains boast a capacity of 2,170 persons and are the first to include gangways to improve passenger distribution.
As well as a modern design and the latest technological advances in safety and comfort, the supplied units boast passenger information systems and recording central units for any event that may occur. Thanks to the new CBTC signal system, train frequency has been increased to an interval of 90 seconds with the subsequent 30% passenger capacity increase.
