EUROPE SELECTS THE CONSORTIUM LED BY CAF FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A HYDROGEN TRAIN PROTOTYPE

The Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) of the European Commission has selected the project FCH2RAIL to start negotiations for an EU grant agreement valued at 10 million EUR. FCH2RAIL would be technically led by CAF and would benefit from the European funding under the H2020 Program to work on the development of a railway vehicle prototype powered by hydrogen.

SOLARIS HYDROGEN BUS TRIAL RUNS IN PARIS

In coming weeks, one of the most innovative vehicles from Solaris, the Urbino 12 hydrogen urban bus, will undergo trial runs in the streets of Paris. These trials, performed in cooperation with Solaris, will enable the French operator, RATP Group, to test the capacity of this technology applied to regular passenger revenue service.

CAF SECURES THE CONTRACT TO SUPPLY METRIC GAUGE UNITS FOR RENFE

RENFE awarded CAF the supply of 37 metric gauge trains which will be used to replace the railway operator's existing fleet of this type of unit. The trains in this order are separated into two different sets: Firstly, 31 trains that will run on the RENFE Metric Gauge lines, previously managed by FEVE, improving rail services in Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, Castilla y León and the Basque Country; and secondly, 6 trains - also Metric Gauge - that will replace the entire existing fleet serving the Cercedill
