MINCOTUR's CONNECTED INDUSTRY 4.0 2020 initiative promoted the implementation of the DIGIFORJA project which, through the use of smart technology, has enabled CAF MiiRA to digitise and control its railway axle forging process so as to save on production costs, reduce manufacturing times and improve the final quality of its axles.

Yet another two important European cities have chosen CAF to supply urban public transport service vehicles. Firstly, Bonn will receive 22 LRV units in a new contract for the company on the German market, and secondly, EMT (Empresa de Transportes Municipales de Madrid) will replace part of its bus fleet with 60 Solaris electric units. These two contracts amount to a value of over 110 million euros.

The CAF Group will be attending the third edition of GO MOBILITY by MUBIL, the professional industrial and digital sustainable transport ecosystem meeting point. The event will take place in Ficoba, Irún, on the 27th and 28th of April.

The CAF Group has concluded a contract with the state-owned railway operator SAR (Saudi Arabia Railways) that covers the maintenance of the Saudi operator's train fleet, including technical support and other related services. The contract amounts to close to €200 million.

CAF will once again take part at the Middle East Rail fair which will take place in Abu Dhabi on 17 and 18 May. This is the most important railway congress in the Middle East. The CAF Group, which boasts a wide range of sustainable mobility solutions, is strongly committed to developing integrated transport systems in Gulf countries. CAF will also attend the European Light Rail Congress which will take place on 18 and 19 May in Zaragoza.

The CAF Group has secured two new sustainable urban transport contracts. The first of these sees Metro de Granada renewing trust in CAF once more to supply 8 more units which will be added to those already supplied, whilst the other involves AT Milano increasing its fleet of Solaris buses with 75 new electric units. These two contracts amount to a value of over €80 million.

The CAF Group has just been awarded two new contracts for the supply of low and zero emission buses in Spain and Germany. One contract is for the supply of 87 hybrid vehicles to Barcelona from the end of this year onwards, while the other covers the delivery of 30 electric buses to the city of Dortmund in Germany. The total value of both contracts amounts to approximately €60 million
