CAF awarded the high speed trains between Ankara and Istanbul

The Turkish Railways (TCDD) have awarded CAF the tender of 10 High Speed Trains. The contract, which includes the trains, the warranty and spare parts, amounts to approximately 180 million euros in total.

 

This is an aluminium train made up of 6 passenger cars which shall be equipped with CAFeteria, first and second classes and areas provided for persons with reduced mobility.

 

The traction shall be distributed along the train, with a high level of riding comfort with state-of-the-art signalling and safety systems.

 

These vehicles travel at 250 Km/h. The new Ankara-Istanbul lines are currently under construction.- this line shall use the new rolling stock. The route shall be somewhere in excess of 600 km and shall be travelled in less than 3 hours.
