CAF was awarded in 2014 the supply of 30 commuter trains for the new Mexico D.F.-Toluca Line by the Mexican Secretariat for Communications and Transport (SCT).
These EMUs are made of 5 cars connected by gangways that permit optimum passenger distribution in the units. The EMUs feature unobstructed interiors with capacity to carry ca. 700 passengers. In addition, the train design guarantees full accessibility for persons with reduced mobility with manual ramps for ease of access, as well as a reserved area for two wheelchairs in the central car.
The project scope includes also part of the signalling system and the electromechanical facilities along with the integration engineering for the whole project. These project areas are managed by CAF Signalling, CMFS and CAF Transport Engineering, which are all member companies of the CAF Group.
