COMMUTER TRAIN SCHÖNBUCHBAHN
CAF is the supplier of the light EMU units for Zweckverband Schönbuchbahn (ZVS). These units belong to the NEXIO platform, CAF's new range of light electric trains for mobility within the city, as well as between nearby towns.
This is a 3-car electric traction vehicle. The operator will benefit from the exceptional transport capacity of these trains with each unit capable of transporting up to 212 passengers. This articulated unit also provides the best accessibility conditions existing on the market for this type of vehicle: it has areas reserved for persons with reduced mobility and is fitted with spacious aisles to guarantee passengers can walk along the train safely.
The new electric units will operate on the ZVS network, specifically on the line connecting the towns of Böblingen, Holzgerlingen and Dettenhausen. This second project in Germany demonstrates the company's commitment towards the German market, where CAF has previously supplied trams for the city of Freiburg.
