The Brussels Intercomunal Transport Company (MIVB/STIB), the public transport operator of the European capital, awarded CAF the supply of M7 Metro Units with an extension option.
These new Units feature cutting-edge safety equipment and are designed for the migration to the CBTC signalling system which allows automatic driving based on the continuous location of the train.
Units are spacious with unobstructed gangways for increased passenger comfort and passenger distribution. Doors are noticeable larger on the M7 trains compared to the M6 series for easier passenger boarding and egress. The trains have multipurpose zones for persons with reduced mobility, prams and bicycles.
