MANILA LINE 1 LRV

CAF is the supplier of the new LRVs for Manila Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 1. Each articulated unit is made up of 2 cars and multiple unit operation is planned for consists of 4 LRVs with a total of 8 cars.

These new units are bi-directional with 16 doors on each side for expeditious passenger boarding and alighting at stations. Each LRV is provided with a PRM area with a total of 4 PRM areas on the Unit as a whole.

LRT Line-1 is an elevated 20 km long metro line which crosses Manila north to south. A 12km extension towards the province of Cavite is planned. The purpose of the project is to improve the capacity of the line and reduce contamination levels in the city which is considered one of the most populated cities in the world.
