CIVITY REGIONAL DIESEL TRAIN FOR WALES AND BORDERS

CAF is the supplier of the new regional trains. These sets are part of the Civity UK low floor modular train platform. The project consists of the supply and maintenance of 2- and 3-car DMUs which can reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h.

The interior has been designed to ensure passengers can move safely along the train thanks to wide gangways and the absence of intermediate ramps or steps between cars. The train also has areas designed for wheelchairs and a special WC for persons with reduced mobility.

Maximum passenger comfort is ensured with the air conditioning system, Wi-Fi connection and bicycle storage area.

This fleet is manufactured at CAF's Newport plant, in South Wales, and will provide service on the Wales and Borders franchise lines in Wales.
