NTA (Metropolitan Mass Transit Systems) has opted for the transport consortium made up of the CAF Group and the construction firm Shapir for the Tel Aviv LRV Purple Line.
As well as the construction of both the line and a depot, this project includes the design and supply of 98 new unidirectional Urbos low-floor trams– almost 35 metres long– with doors on both sides, which will comprise of 5 modules. It will operate 100% coupled in a double consist.
The scope of the project for the consortium also includes the supply of the signalling, simulator, energy and communication systems, as well as maintenance of the line for a term of 25 years.
